O IMPACTO DA DENGUE NA SAÚDE PÚBLICA BRASILEIRA: DINHEIRO PÚBLICO E VIDAS

Resumo


A dengue é uma considerável doença infecciosa que emerge com forte impacto na saúde pública. A doença além de dolorosa e debilitante, traz febre, que pode ser leve até a hemorrágica e com risco de vida e choque. Ela tem alta morbidade e mortalidade, pois compromete o sistema nervoso central e o fígado. Este estudo tem o objetivo de investigar o número de indivíduos que são internados e que foram a óbito em virtude da dengue (clássica e hemorrágica) no Brasil, além dos gastos gerados na rede hospitalar. Os relatórios foram fornecidos pelo Sistema de Informações Hospitalares, o DATASUS, em informações sobre mortalidade, no período de janeiro de 2008 a agosto de 2021. A população selecionada foi o cidadão brasileiro de ambos os gêneros, todas as idades e morador nas 27 unidades federativas brasileiras. Fazem-se necessárias uma terapia específica para a Dengue e ainda a descoberta de um agente antiviral. Palavras-chave: Dengue, Mortalidade, Morbidade, Saneamento Básico
